How to Edit the MineMania Wiki

Anyone can help improve the MineMania Wiki.

Do not be scared to edit. Any mistakes can be fixed easily, and other editors can help. Be bold, check your work, and ask for help when you need it.

You can fix spelling, update old information, add missing details, or create new pages.

There are two ways to edit:

 • Visual Editor — works like a normal document editor.
 • Source Editor — uses wiki code.

Before editing, please read the Editing Policy.

Important rules

 • Be kind and respectful.
 • Only add information that is true.
 • Keep your writing about MineMania.
 • Do not share private information.
 • Do not add rude, unsafe, or inappropriate content.
 • Do not remove useful information without a good reason.
 • Do not copy large amounts of text from other websites.
 • Ask for help if you are unsure.

Other editors may change or undo your edit. This is normal and helps keep the wiki accurate.

How to edit a page

 1. Open the page you want to change.
 2. Select Edit to use the Visual Editor or select Edit source to use the Source Editor.
 3. Make your changes.
 4. Read your work again.
 5. Select Show preview to check the page.
 6. Write a short edit summary explaining what you changed.
 7. Select Save changes.

Good edit summaries include:

 • Fixed spelling
 • Added command information
 • Updated an old section
 • Added a link to another page

Avoid summaries such as edit or changed stuff, because they do not explain the change.

Using the Visual Editor

The Visual Editor is the easiest choice for most users.

You can use it to:

 • add or change text;
 • make headings;
 • create lists;
 • add links;
 • add images;
 • make simple tables;
 • make text bold or italic.

Use the buttons at the top of the editor to format the page.

Adding a heading

Headings split a page into clear sections.

Examples include:

 • Overview
 • Commands
 • How to Use
 • History

Only use headings for important sections.

 1. Highlight the words you want to turn into a link.
 2. Select the link button.
 3. Search for the page.
 4. Choose the correct page.
 5. Confirm the link.

Example:

See the Commands page for more information.

Adding an image

Only add images that are useful and related to the page.

Images should:

 • be clear;
 • have a useful filename;
 • include a short description;
 • not contain private or inappropriate content.

Using the Source Editor

The Source Editor lets you edit the wiki code directly.

Headings

Use equals signs around heading names:

Main heading
Smaller heading
Bold and italic text

Bold text
Italic text

Link to another wiki page:

Commands

Use different link text:

server commands

Bullet points

* First item
* Second item
* Third item

Numbered steps

# First step
# Second step
# Third step

Categories

Categories group similar pages together.

Add categories at the bottom of a page:

Only use categories that match the page.

Creating a new page

Before making a new page:

 1. Search the wiki to check that the page does not already exist.
 2. Make sure the topic is about MineMania.
 3. Choose a clear page name.
 4. Add enough information to make the page useful.
 5. Link the new page to related pages.

Creating a new page

 1. Search for the page name.
 2. If the page does not exist, select the link to create it.
 3. Choose the Visual Editor or Source Editor.
 4. Add your content.
 5. Select Show preview to check the page.
 6. Select Save changes.

Pages which do not meet these requirement will be deleted

Before publishing

 • the content is kind and appropriate;
 • no private information is included;
